Privacy

Effective 20 August 2026

This site answers one question. It works perfectly well without knowing anything about you, and if you just read the answer and leave, it stores nothing that identifies you. The only thing that changes that is the notify form — and only if you use it.

If you just visit

No account, no cookies, no sign-in, no ads, no trackers belonging to anyone else. Page views are counted with a self-hosted Umami instance running on the same server as the site. It is cookieless, it does not build a profile of you, and it does not store your IP address or any identifier that would let us pick you out of the traffic. It exists so we know whether anyone is reading.

If you join the notify list

The form has one purpose: to be able to tell you, once, on the day the answer changes. Here is everything that is stored when you submit it.

WhatWhy
Your email address So we can send you the one notification. Nothing else is ever sent to it.
Your IP address To stop a script from filling the list with junk, and as evidence of when a sign-up came in.
Your browser's user-agent string Same reason: telling a person apart from a bot.
The time you signed up, and the answer showing at the time So the list can be read in order, and so we know how long you have been waiting.

That is the whole record. There is no name field, no marketing profile, no tracking pixel, and no third party involved. The list is never sold, shared, rented, or used for anything other than the notification described above.

Lawful basis, and how to withdraw

We rely on your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing privacy@havetheyarrestedhegsethyet.com, and your entry will be deleted. You do not have to give a reason.

How long it is kept

Until the notification has been sent, or until you ask for it to be deleted, whichever comes first. Once the answer has changed and the list has been notified, the list has served its only purpose and is deleted.

Where it is kept

On a single server in the European Union, in a database that is not reachable from the internet. The connection between your browser and the site is encrypted (HTTPS). No copy of the list is sent to a mailing-list provider, a CRM, or an analytics tool.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can object to it being held. Email privacy@havetheyarrestedhegsethyet.com from the address you signed up with and it will be actioned. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission, or to the supervisory authority where you live.

Children

This is a general-audience site about a serving government minister. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly hold data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If what is collected changes, this page and the effective date above will change with it.
